Fallen Idol
Did you see the interview on 60 minutes with Paul Bishop about World Savings? He outlines a travesty of economic practices that makes one shudder.
I probably regret hearing and reading about this more than most: In 2005 I selected Marion Sandler, the co-chair of World Savings with her husband Herb, for my Outstanding Business Person report for a class on Business Fundamentals at Foothill College. Marion and Herb made a record for themselves in the 1970 Savings and Loans fiasco by maintaining ethical principles of sound business practices. Sad to say, that's not what Paul Bishop says they did in this current economic climate.
Needless to say, I will be following this story closely.
